  • Good Things:
    • The lighting and the animations were really something that brings this huge ship a lot of character
      • The beginning scene is so captivating, of the ship and inside of the self-sustained ship, showed the environment beautifully.
      • The set and the layout of the ship were some of the best I have seen in a while
    • The thought and the message behind was great
      • The premise of finding someone on the ship
    • Jennifer Laurence was amazing in her fun, playful ways at certain times, as well as her serious moments, which gave me chills
      • She showed a perfect progression through the stages of grief, needed time (In her room by herself), avoiding the issue, confronting the problem (beating up Chris in his sleep)
    • The way that they tied in the quotes that were stated early in the movie.

  • Bad things
    • The ENDING – coming close to hated
      • The movie ended so abruptly, saw the crew for two seconds and flashes to an animated galaxy ending the movie.
      • The Big climatic moment felt rushed from the point of the crew member showing up.
    • Chris Pratt
      • The casting of Chris Pratt, I couldn’t get over when he joked around, which carried throughout his performance, including the serious parts of the movie.
      • Didn’t show enough guilt for ending JLaurence’s character’s life.
    • The self-promotion of SONY the unrealistic product that doesn’t exist
    • Confused about the tree.

  • Things I would have done differently:
    • Casted a more serious actor for the lead role
    • Would have shown the date/year as they appeared on the screen to keep the audience on track
    • Had a longer guilt period for Chris Pratt
    • Ending the movie with the possibility of their children/grandchildren making it to Homestead II
  • Plot just felt off
